FORM Studio was born in 2009 from a single shared conviction: that architecture should be neither purely functional nor purely aesthetic, but rather an alchemical fusion of both. Our founders, trained across Europe's most rigorous schools of design, assembled a small but fiercely ambitious team in a converted warehouse in Berlin-Mitte.

Our first commissions were modest — a residential extension in Hamburg, a retail fitout in Vienna — but each project was approached with the same obsessive attention to materiality and spatial sequence that would later define our international reputation. We spent our early years building not just structures, but a methodology.

By 2012, word had spread quietly through design circles. A feature in Dezeen and a shortlisting for the Mies van der Rohe Award brought our work to a broader audience. The studio grew not by chasing commissions, but by doing exceptional work and trusting that recognition would follow — and it did.

We believe that great architecture is not designed — it is discovered. Our process begins with deep listening: to the client, to the site, to the cultural and historical forces that shape every place. Only when we understand what a space wants to become do we begin to give it form.

Our multidisciplinary teams dissolve the traditional boundaries between architecture, interior design, and landscape. A FORM project is conceived as a singular, holistic experience — from the approach sequence and threshold moments to the texture of a handrail and the quality of light at four o'clock on an autumn afternoon.

We reject the tyranny of trend. Our work is rooted in the timeless — in proportion, material honesty, and the deep human needs for shelter, beauty, and meaning. Each project is an act of care for the people who will inhabit it and for the world they inhabit alongside it.
